Pölyn laskeuduttua

Steven E. Jones on julkaissut uuden artikkelin tutkimuksistaan koskien World Trade Center-tornien ( WTC1, WTC2 ja WTC7 ) sortumisen syitä. Kts. "Revisiting 9/11/2001 --Applying the Scientific Method", http://journalof911studies.com/volume/200704/JonesWTC911SciMethod.pdf

Jones raportoi tässä artikkelissa alustavasti mm. pölyhiukkasten analysointia. Hänen tutkijatiimillä on hallussaan pölyhiukkasotos, jonka n. 100 m etäläisestä tornista sijaitsevan asunnon asukas asetti heidän käyttöönsä. Hiukkasiin sisältyy pisaranmuotoisia rautapartikkeleita: "There was a surprising amount of this iron-rich material. Although others have reported the presence of iron-rich particles in the dust, I was surprised to find the abundance of spherical particles in this iron-rich component some of which were considerably larger than previously reported. It was exciting to me to find for the first time iron-rich spheres up to about 1.5 mm in diameter in a 32.1-gram sample of dust", Jones kirjoittaa.

Jones tutkii näitä partikkeleita elektronimikroskoopilla. Hänen alustava johtopäätöksensä: "I will simply say in this paper that iron-aluminum rich spheres are seen in both the WTC dust and in spherules produced in thermite-control reactions. Details of the spherules and comparisons are beyond the scope of this paper but are available to me and our team of researchers, and will appear in a forthcoming paper. We consider the information borne by these previously-molten microspheres found in large numbers in the WTC dust, for they tell us much about what took place that remarkable day in history."

WWW:n yhdeltä perustajahahmolta kysyttiin mitä hän tuumaa Web 2.0-puheista.

LANINGHAM: You know, with Web 2.0, a common explanation out there is Web 1.0 was about connecting computers and making information available; and Web 2 is about connecting people and facilitating new kinds of collaboration. Is that how you see Web 2.0?

BERNERS-LEE: Totally not. Web 1.0 was all about connecting people. It was an interactive space, and I think Web 2.0 is of course a piece of jargon, nobody even knows what it means. If Web 2.0 for you is blogs and wikis, then that is people to people. But that was what the Web was supposed to be all along.

Distance bridging - kuilun umpeen kuroaminen? Kuilu, matka - syvyys, etäisyys. Miten onnistumme kuroamaan kuilun umpeen? Suomen ja Venäjän välillä on lyhyt matka mutta syvä kuilu.

Onko Venäjän ja Ugandan välinen kuilu syvempi kuin Suomen ja Ugandan välinen kuilu? Helsingistä Ugandaan ei ole juuri pidempi matka kuin Pietarista - siis maantieteellisesti. Putoaisivatko Venäjän alterglobalistit kuiluun jos he yrittäisivät ylittää sitä? Ei, heillä on realistinen käsitys kuilun syvyydestä. Ovatko he realistisempia kuin me? Tämä on jo pinnallista lavertelua, sen myönnän. Minusta tämä metafora on kiintoisa, hyödyllinen... Metafora on muuten sana joka tuo mieleen matkustamisen yli, ylilennon. Metaforilla ylitämme kuiluja ja taitamme matkoja.

Rucht, vanhempi tutkija, jopa vanhempi kuin minä, varoittaa interneteuforiasta. Eu-for, niin kuin meta-for. Kuin for-um? (1) Maailman sosiaali-foor-umi. Aina sitä matkustellaan, matka jatkuu. Kristus matkusti taivaiseen. Tänään.
